Question: What do you think of Kid Cudi?

Kid Cudi Video: Day or Night

Kid Cudi, Kanye, Common: Make Her Say

Goodwork:
He has his place. Right now in Hip Hop we're making a transition away from gangster rap and toward just good music ala Tribe Called Quest back during the Low End Thory through Electric Relaxation. Therefore Kid Cudi has his place because he's at the beginning of that movement. But his rhymes are simplistic at best but the beats are not overproduced. He'd be lost on a soundtrack like the one on Jay-Z's blueprint 2. His rhymes just aren't complex enough to match such a deep soundtrack. But he's smart. He stays in his lane, and sticks to deep topics over centrist beats (not overproduced but not simplistic) and a simple delivery. He'll never be top dog (the reason: think Lupe's ridiculous flow plus the content to match) but he should have a place in the game for a long time.
